Nice real groundhog you photographed! They apparently couldn't find one for the opening shot of "Indiana Jones and of the Kingdom of the Crystal and the Skull" so they had to use CG instead.
Yes, that's because they were all hiding up here. I saw probably a hundred of them just on the lawn of the university up here, practically hit a few with my car.
