So.... I meant to get this post up sooner, but I've been busy trying to snag interviews with those lovely folks running for office.
I went to see Chuck Berry in concert with my dad last week. It was AMAZING. He's 81, but still rocks the shit out of the guitar. He played "Johnny Be Good," "You Never Can Tell," "Roll Over Beethoven," and some other stuff I'd never heard before. Danced the whole time. I couldn't believe someone that old could still rock for an hour, doing his signature duck walk and jamming with the pianist and all that. Good time.
The next morning, Niemann and I went out and got some tasty Chuck Berry pancakes from the diner. yummm. I took some photos with the old school camera that I'll develop later this week. I hope they turned out because they're super sweet.

I got a Nikon camera
I love to take my phoooootographs
Oh, Mama don't take my kodachrome away.
Actually, I have a Canon camera, and it's not a kodachrome, but you get the gist.
OK. After about 20 hours taking, developing and making prints. I finally have made contact sheets for my first two roles of film. The first was a scavenger hunt where we had stuff we were supposed to take photos of... Me in the shower, self portraits, pictures of friends, environmental tragedies, etc. Some came out, others didn't, but I'm not disappointed. It was a great first shot.
Next, I had to shoot a public gathering of some sort. Most people did street festivals, but I did the Mass of the Holy spirit. It's the only mass all year that we get out of class for, so I already love it. Plus, all the Jesuits are dresses in red and there's a bowl of fire... pretty cool stuff. Too bad the fire went out before I could get a photo. Symbolic? I hope not.
Some of these aren't worth making prints of, but through the miracle of Photoshop, I'm going to keep some anyway. More to come... The one below obviously didn't turn out the way I wanted, but I'm gonna try it again. If I do it (as Police Commissioner Gordon would say) by the books, it should be ok next time.

babysittin'
I'm going to upload pictures and write about my nephew very soon, but right now settle for Baby martha wearing my Creighton baseball cap.
Sorry the last two have been so sentimental, but I haven't written anything or taken photos of anything I'm sure proud of. When I get a minute to breathe I'll draw a little somethin' for Abby and post it. Til then, enjoy the kids.

It's hard to say what it is I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
Words can't say it, I can't do
Enough to prove, it's all for you
So Sister Hazel practically followed Bob and me home on the radio. I think we heard this song three times, and when I got home I heard it the grocery store. Ahhh.... what a great song.
Anywho, I posted some final photos on Facebook, but I thought I'd leave this:
We had lunch on the beach. Freezing outside, rainy, and yet we both thought it would be a good idea to play in the ocean... at least I thought it was a good idea.
Started at Creighton again. News editor. More to come.
